These abstract multi-sensory clothes hangers are designed to stimulate multiple senses simultaneously, creating a unique and engaging user experience. They feature textures, scents, or even sounds, with the goal of enhancing the user's relationship with identifying garments when clothes shopping. By engaging multiple senses, these hangers may help users to connect with garments and potentially lead to a more accessible and intentional approach to merchandising. While still in the experimental stage, these abstract multi-sensory clothes hangers represent an exciting avenue for exploration in the intersection of merchandising and sensory experience.
These hangers were made using 3D printing and manual methods which enabled the creation of intricate shapes, patterns and textures.
This project examined how multi-sensory design could be used to reimagine how we identify price tags, sizes and washing requirements of garments when shopping for clothes.
